Los Angeles-based group Monde UFO makes surrealistic pop of the most alien variety, with songs that drift easily between psychedelic rock tonality, airy space age jazz atmospheres, and a kind of otherworldly exotica. Bandleader Ray Monde started out making lo-fi, demo-quality recordings of his spacy, organ-based songs, and fleshed out the arrangements and instrumentation on toothier, more sharply defined releases like his 2025 album Flamingo Tower.
