The Swedish alternative rock band Monostar originally comprised singer/guitarist Eric Palmqwist, lead guitarist Linus Larson and drummer Jimmy Harlevi, who first began playing heavy metal-influenced music together while teenagers. The subsequent addition of bassist Carl Dahlström completed the line-up, and after recording a pair of demos much acclaimed in the Swedish music press Monostar became the subject of an intense bidding war, finally signing with Soap Records in 1997.
