New York City-based quartet Morningsiders craft melodic, narrative indie folk alternately tinged with country, bluegrass, Americana, and the mellower side of jazz-rock. The group entered the mainstream in 2015 with the viral streaming hit "Empress," and capitalized on that success with the release of their 2018 debut album, A Little Lift, and 2020 sophomore effort, Pollen. The band enlisted producer Peter Katis (Sharon Van Etten, the National) to helm their 2021 EP Easy Does It, which saw them adopt a more concise and accessible folk-pop sound.
