Myriam Gendron

The Canadian folk artist Myriam Gendron builds on studies of literature and Québécois history and culture -- utilizing precise fingerpicking and clear, lyrical enunciation -- to present sparse, calming, hypnotically poetic pieces serving as a counterpoint to the hectic early 21st century climate in which they were recorded. She was born in 1988 in Ottawa, but was raised across the river in Gatineau, Québec, and spent time in Washington, D.C. and Paris, France before settling in Montréal.
