Puerto Rican singer/songwriter Nava (born Rodolfo Barreras), son of filmmaker Rolando Barreras and local actress Ana Rodríguez, became involved in music in the late '70s after composing "A Quién Vas a Engañar" for Wilkins, later, writing Yolandita Monge's "Al Ritmo de la Fantasia" and Charytín's "Se Acabó el Amor." After assembling his own Latin rock band, Rodolfo Barreras started touring the U.S. for the first time.
