Andres Lafone (b. 14 March 1954, Montevideo, Uruguay; bass/vocals), Liliana Chachian (b. 18 April 1964, São Paulo, Brazil; vocals), Davide Giovaninni (b. 19 May 1968, Trieste, Italy; drums/vocals), Neil Angilly (b. 28 April 1967, Redruth, Cornwall, England; keyboards) and Carlos Fuentes (b. 13 December 1955, Chile; percussion). Formed in London in 1991 by Lafone, Negrocan mixed Uruguay's ‘candombe' rhythm with Brazilian, funk and jazz influences.
