St. Louis-based Notaker (Dave Nothaker) produces shimmering, atmospheric EDM that is more reminiscent of the late-'90s/early-2000s heyday of progressive house and trance than the more aggressive or hedonistic dance music often associated with the genre. His tracks also have a suspenseful, cinematic quality to them, influenced by soundtrack composers like Hans Zimmer as well as dreamy electronic groups like M83.
