Neo-classical dark ambient project Nox Arcana was founded in 2003 by gothic fantasy artist and composer Joseph Vargo and composer/engineer William Piotrowski. The group's lush, ominous music is inspired by classic horror and fantasy authors such as Edgar Allan Poe and H.P. Lovecraft, as well as a wide range of musicians and composers including Danny Elfman, Enya, AC/DC, and Hans Zimmer.
