Biography

Olivier Latry has been in the forefront of a new generation of French organists, steeped in the instrument's long traditions in Paris yet innovative in spirit and able to reach new audiences. He is also a prominent educator. Latry was born on February 22, 1962, in Boulogne-sur-Mer in far northern France on the English Channel. One of his first organ performances came at his brother's wedding, where his arm slipped and hit the keyboard, causing a loud, dissonant sound.
