Oxana Shevchenko

Pianist Oxana Shevchenko has found success in the West, where she was partly trained, and in East Asia. She is visible as a chamber music performer as well as an orchestral soloist and recitalist. Shevchenko was born in Alma-Ata (now Almaty), Kazakhstan, then part of the Soviet Union, in 1987. She began music studies at age seven with Valentina Tartyshnyaya. At nine, she appeared with the Kazakh State Symphony Orchestra, and in 2004, she performed with the Lithuanian National Symphony Orchestra.
