Paul Neubauer

Violist Paul Neubauer has a strong commitment to contemporary music and has premiered several viola concertos by major composers. He is prominent as a soloist and orchestral musician. Neubauer is also an important educator and music series director. His recordings include a 2025 release featuring Shostakovich's Cello Sonata, Op. 40 (transcribed for viola), and Viola Sonata, Op. 147. Neubauer was born in Encino, California, in 1962.
