Peter Kam is an award-winning film composer based in Hong Kong whose career took flight in the late '90s. Born in 1961, he studied music at San Francisco State University and also at Grove School of Music in Los Angeles. After working primarily as a composer of pop songs and commercials, he began working on film soundtracks in the mid-'90s. By 1997 he was composing music for several films a year, his score for San Tau Dip Ying (1997) earning him his first Hong Kong Film Award nomination.
