Uruguayan hardcore rap band Peyote Asesino was formed in the mid-'80s by singer L. Mental, bassist Daniel Benia, and guitarist Juan Campodonico; they were soon joined by singer/guitarist Carlos Casacuberta and drummer P.P. Canedo. After winning a local contest called Generation '95, Peyote Asesino had the opportunity to make its first record, produced by Gabriel Casacuberta and released by Orfeo.
