Phaedra (aka Phaedra Butler), a contemporary R&B artist who claims a four-octave vocal range, has been active since the latter half of the 1980s. After she sang background for album sessions with the likes of Jean Carn, fellow Bostonians New Kids on the Block, Pieces of a Dream, and Evelyn "Champagne" King, she became one-third of Lady Soul.
