After establishing himself as a cellist early in his career, Philipp von Steinaecker successfully transitioned to a growing role as a conductor. His repertoire is expansive with both modern and historical instrument ensembles, ranging from the Baroque period with works by Purcell, Haydn, and Handel to the composers of the 20th century's Second Viennese School, with a considerable focus on the Romantic era greats, such as Mahler and Bruckner.
