The gentlemen of Pinq formed in 1998 after the demise of indie rock loudmouths Goldenrod and aimed for spiritual musical journey. Tim Mitchell (vocals/guitar), Ben Montesano (drums), and Greg Bertens (bass) trudged in and around their native San Francisco during the late '90s. Andrew Simas joined on keyboards just in time to record a demo, but was quickly replaced by multi-instrumentalist Tad Ro by mid-2000.
