Plainsong

A country-inflected British folk-rock group led by Ian Matthews and Andy Roberts, Plainsong is known largely for their 1972 cult classic debut In Search of Amelia Earhart. Though critically lauded, the album was a commercial failure and the band's original lineup split up at the end of that year. Plainsong was later revived in the mid-'90s and continued to record and perform well into the 21st century before disbanding with a farewell album and tour in 2012.
