Planes Mistaken for Stars are an aggressive emocore outfit who originated out of Central Illinois in the late '90s, then later moved to Denver where they spent the bulk of their career. After making their full-length debut with 2001's Fuck with Fire, the band entered their most successful years, releasing a pair of highly regarded albums -- 2004's Up in Them Guts and 2006's Mercy -- before disbanding in 2008.
