The Jahpostles Band was formed in Portland, Jamaica in 1977. The original line-up featured Cecil Hardy and Sharon Miles alongside the brothers Anthony and Devon Bradshaw. The group performed on the North Coast where, like many other aspiring artists, they nurtured their skills playing to tourists. After a few seasons the group decided to leave the island for Miami, Florida. It was at this time that the band enrolled Ian Dawkins.
