Reign of Erebus

Reign of Erebus is an English black metal group that combines the icy atmospherics of classic Scandi-metal with the lo-fi thrum of the underground. Founded in 1997 and hailing from Farnborough, Hampshire, the band made its mark in the U.K. extreme metal scene with 2001's Humanracist and 2004's Inversion Principle, both of which embrace themes of the occult, paganism, and anti-Christianity. Personnel issues and side projects put Reign of Erebus out to pasture in 2005, resulting in a 15-year hiatus broken up by the release of 2020's De Morte Aeterna. ~ James Christopher Monger
