Biography

Gospel singer Rev. Clay Evans was born June 23, 1925, in Brownsville, TN; ordained as a Baptist minister a quarter century later, he went on to found the Fellowship Baptist Church in Chicago, and between 1971 and 1976 served as the founding member of the National Board Chairman of Operation PUSH. A featured soloist on a number of albums by the Rev. Clay Evans & Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, Evans also issued an impressive number of solo recordings on labels including Savoy and Jewel. ~ Jason Ankeny
