Biography
One of Prince Edward Island's top fiddlers and stepdancers, Richard Wood has won numerous competitions, including the Don Messer Memorial Trophy (for top maritime fiddler), which he won twice. In 1998, he was named Best Instrumental Artist and Best Roots/Traditional Artist at the East Coast Music Awards in Halifax. A critic for the Shetland Times claimed that Wood was "the best, or more precisely, the most entertaining fiddler I have ever seen," while the Scotsman declared that he was a "bow-shredding fiddling sensation."
