Rick Jones

Early in his career, Canadian musician and entertainer Rick Jones hosted the BBC children's television programs Play School and Fingerbobs, the latter of which attained cult status for its cute and clever paper fingerpuppets and catchy songs. On the show, which debuted on Valentine's Day 1972, Jones played Yoffi, the show's narrator, whose name was taken from Hebrew slang for "happy/cheerful"; Michael Cole, who created the show with his wife Joanne, picked up the word on a trip to Israel.
