Dominican-born merengue singer Ricky Castro rose to prominence in the '90s as the frontman of Ricky Castro y Su Banda Soberbia, a hardcore merengue outfit best known for hits such as "Después De Ti," "El Enano," "El Pariguayo," "Es Duro," and "El Sun Sun De La Carabela," among others.
