Biography

Studied with Apostel, Berio, Milhaud. Co-founder San Francisco New Music Ensemble at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music in '60s. Composed large-scale event "Pachelbel Promenade" for city of Graz, Austria in '70s. Composer-in-residence Northwestern University. Operas From the Towers of the Moon (1992) for Minnesota Opera, The Dracula Diary, Night Passage (1995) for 180 male voices of Seattle Men's Chorus about Oscar Wilde trial and sentence. ~ "Blue" Gene Tyranny
