As a priest, both cleric and chaplain, Morton served in the Burgundian court form 1457 until 1476. The only reference to his being English was for a payment to him for the purchase of clothes. It described him as an "angle chaplain". During the reign of Philip the Good and Charles the Bold Morton served as a member of the chapel. Only secular compositions attributed to Morton are extant.
