Rubio

Rubio is the project of Fran Straube, an avant-pop Chilean singer, songwriter, and producer. Born in Santiago in 1987, Straube studied music and sound engineering in Chile and Spain, and in the early 2010s entered the local indie scene as a member of bands such as Miss Garrison, Fármacos, and Picnic Kibun. All the while she was honing her skills and testing the waters with a few singles and EPs under the moniker Rubio, developing an atmospheric blend of EDM, trip-hop, urban, ambient, and dream pop.
