Inglewood, California native Rucci raps about his troubled upbringing with a mixture of swagger and reflection. Updating the sounds of '90s gangsta rap and G-funk, he has a spirited, excited flow, and his music sounds exuberant and party-ready even as he's discussing subject matter such as gun violence and self-medicating in order to deal with pain.
