This folk rock duo comprises sisters Leilah (b. c.1974, USA) and Jeordie Schekeryk (b. c.1975, USA), the daughters of record producer Peter Schekeryk and the singer Melanie. The duo made their debut at the respective ages of seven and eight, when they recorded a version of ‘Grandma, We Love You', which became a minor Canadian chart hit in 1982. Later they became backing singers on their mother's tours, billing themselves as the Melanoids.
