Austrian schlager band Die Seer broke through to mainstream success in their homeland in the mid-2000s, when their albums began regularly charting within the Top Five, sometimes reaching number one. Though most easily classified as simply schlager, the band's style is unique, incorporating aspects of Austro-pop as well as volksmusik; perhaps the most accurate classification would be volkstümlicher schlager.
