Sergio Cammariere was born in Crotone, Italy in the 1960s. His unique compositional style and deft piano playing were seldom heard before his debut in his mid-thirties. He won the Premio Tenco Award for best performer of the year in 1997. Named as the revelation of the year, enthusiastic audiences would have to wait five years for his debut record, titled Dalla Pace del Mare Lontano, released on the Via Veneto jazz Label.
