Shai Maestro

A gifted Israeli jazz pianist, Shai Maestro first broke onto the scene playing with bassist Avishai Cohen's trio in 2008. He then embarked on a fruitful solo career, issuing albums like 2012's The Road to Ithaca and his 2018 debut for the ECM label, The Dream Thief. Born in Israel in 1987, Maestro began playing piano at age five and excelled, eventually graduating from the Thelma Yellin High School of Performing Arts in Givataim, Israel.
