Signals Midwest

Since 2008, the Cleveland quartet Signals Midwest have plied their own brand of angst-filled indie punk. From their 2009 long-player debut to 2019's Pin EP, the group have carved their own path through the often-crowded emo punk scene. Formed by Maxwell Stern (vocals, guitar), Steve Gibson (vocals, drums), and Loren Shumaker (vocals, bass), the three-piece took the emo blueprint created by the likes of Fairweather, Small Brown Bike, and Hot Water Music and mixed it with the post-punk of bands such as the Menzingers.
