Situationists

Hailing from Sheffield, the four-piece Situationists have shaken off the inevitable Arctic Monkeys comparisons thanks to their brand of spiky angular guitar pop, more akin to Bloc Party than Alex Turner and company. Formed from the remnants of the hotly tipped but short-lived Umlaut in 2006, frontman Dan Shamplin-Hall, guitarist Sam Weatherald, bassist Nick Cox, and drummer Ralf Wilson recorded their first demo in a basement using two microphones bought from Poundland.
