A singer, songwriter, and producer working in a variety of pop and folks styles, Syd was born Erin Sidney in Burlington, Vermont, where he started out first as a drummer before picking up the guitar at the age of 15. He began posting his music online and, gaining a fan base through his efforts, he moved to Boston and met drummer Jason Gardner while attending college. They decided to work together, and the two began recording Week Days, Weak Knees in Gardner's apartment.
