Brooklyn-based indie rock quartet Syvia started as the solo project of Norwegian-American singer/songwriter Ruth Syvia Mirsky. Previously a member of the Drums and What What Where, she struck out on her own in 2011 and recorded her first EP, the Nordic synth-pop Unloveable, with Simone Ghetti. For the follow-up, she switched gears, enlisting bassist Sheldon Chow, guitarist Frank Banisi, and drummer Richard Moyle to round out a full rock band.
