Dancehall deejay Tanto Metro (Mark Wolfe) and singer Devonte (Wayne Passley) forged a long-term alliance in the late '90s. Before the Kingston, Jamaica natives became a duo, Tanto Metro was already a veteran artist with piles of singles for labels like Shelter Rock and Shocking Vibes, and he had released a solo album, Ratings, in 1995. Devonte likewise had Shocking Vibes, among other labels, as an outlet for singles.
