Taryn Manning

Taryn Manning first came to fame as an actress, appearing in such acclaimed films as 2002's 8 Mile and 2005's Hustle & Flow, but she pursued a concurrent career as a musician. With her brother Kellin, she formed Boomkat in 2002. Signed to Dreamworks by Robbie Robertson, the band released their debut, Boomkatalog One, in March 2003.
