Venezuelan Latin rock band Témpano was formed in 1977 by ex-Diedra and Magia drummer Gerardo Ubieda, singer/guitarist Pedro Castillo, bassist Miguel Angel Echevarreneta, and Leonardo Arias. In 1979, having Giuglio Cesare Della Noce on keyboards, Témpano recorded its first album, called Atabal Yemal. It is considered to be the first symphonic rock album produced in Venezuela. A year later, Pedro Castillo left the act to form a new project called P.P.S.
