The 18 Wheelers

Zephaniah OHora may be based in Brooklyn, but the music he makes with his supporting band, the 18 Wheelers, evokes California -- specifically the lean, rangy sound coming out of Bakersfield in the '60s. This sensibility was showcased on This Highway, the group's 2017 full-length debut. Prior to launching the 18 Wheelers, OHora was the singer for the Honeyfingers, a band he joined in 2013.
