Indie rock band the Coach and Four were formed in Memphis, TN, in 2001 by drummer Daniel Farris and bassist Tony Dixon, formerly the rhythm section with Staynless, initially as an offshoot of their instrumental side project, Breathe You Are Alive. (They named the group after a dilapidated Memphis hotel.) Additional members were Brad Stanfill (guitar), Luke White (guitar), and Jon David Lovelace (keyboards).
