Biography
Formed in 2005 in Redondo Beach, California, the Darlings meld melodic blue-collar punk with a vintage rock & roll aesthetic. Led by singer, songwriter, and guitarist Buddy Darling, the band developed a gritty, guitar-driven sound in the vein of Social Distortion and Tiger Army. A year after releasing a self-titled EP in 2008, they were the winners in the Ernie Ball Battle of the Bands, and shortly thereafter had their song "What Lies Below" picked up by the Anaheim Ducks, who used the track for their 2009-2010 season promo spots.
