Biography
All-star post-bop and modern creative jazz trio Fly feature saxophonist Mark Turner, bassist Larry Grenadier, and drummer Jeff Ballard. Longtime associates, Turner, Grenadier, and Ballard formed Fly after working together on a project with pianist Chick Corea. The trio released its debut self-titled album in 2004 on Savoy Jazz. They next moved to ECM for 2009's Sky and Country. In 2012, Fly returned with their third effort, Year of the Snake, also on ECM. ~ Matt Collar
