The Kartoon Krew

The electro outfit Kartoon Krew was responsible for a couple of novelty 12" releases on Profile during the mid-'80s. Both "Inspector Gadget" and "Batman" sampled liberally from like-titled theme songs, and in turn, they were similar in approach to Meco's kitschy disco treatment of the Star Wars theme. Though the group never released an album, "Inspector Gadget" is available on Profile's 1999 Profilin' the Hits compilation. ~ Andy Kellman
