North Carolina power-pop heroes the Mayflies USA blend ear-tickling pop hooks with big electric guitars and a dash of indie rock edge. Fans of the great Southern power pop bands of the 1970s, the band's first two albums – 1999's Summertown and 2000's The Pity List – were produced by Chris Stamey of the dB's, who added a dash of polish and focus to their music. 2002's Walking in a Straight Line, produced by Keith Cleversley, added a dash of grit and swagger to their attack, but it was also their last LP before going on hiatus in 2003.
