The Outdoor Type is an Australian indie folk-pop project led by Melbourne singer/songwriter Zack Buchanan. Inspired by classic Australian pop acts like the Church and the Go-Betweens and taking his band name from a song by '90s act Smudge, Buchanan recorded his self-titled debut EP in 2015 and made a decent showing on Triple J and AMRAP radio in his home country.
