Formed in Brooklyn, New York, USA, in 1958, the Quotations featured Larry Kaye (b. Larry Kassman; lead), Richie Schwartz (b. USA, d. 6 February 2006; first tenor), Lew Arno (second tenor) and Harvey Hershkowitz (baritone). MGM Records' songwriter Helen Miller agreed to take over their management, and after bringing them to Verve Records she suggested they make their debut with a cover version of Johnny Burke's ‘Imagination'.
