James Griffin (b. 10 August 1943, Cincinnati, Ohio, USA, d. 11 January 2005, Nashville, Tennessee, USA), although overshadowed by David Gates, was a singer-songwriter with Bread. After leaving the group, Griffin continued to write and recorded a self-titled album in 1977 on Polydor Records. After recording several singles for Shoe Records in Memphis he released, Griffin & Sylvester, in 1981, a collaboration with Terry Sylvester of the Hollies.
