The Shallows

Los Angeles pop duo Shallows is the project of singer Dani Poppitt and guitarist/producer Marshall Gallagher. The two songwriters put their heads together in 2016 to create a hybrid of alt-rock, shoegaze, and mainstream dance pop which they self-described as glitter pop. Debuting with the hooky single "Summer Sucks," they rounded out their rookie year with a pair of darker tracks, "Ride to Die" and "Empire of the Animal." Shallows' first two singles of 2017, "Matter" and "Drive Away," displayed a brighter '80s-indebted feel. ~ Timothy Monger
