The punny name of Australian quartet These New South Whales suggests a band with a decidedly unserious side and the band's path -- building a discography rich in decades of post-punk traditions, from the frenetic riffs of debut You Work for Us (2017) to the blissful trails of melody on 2025's GODSPEED -- was paved with an unlikely foray into out-and-out comedy, making, to some, the outright quality of their music a bit of a surprise.
